Suffolk County Municipal Employees Benefit Fund members now have Short Term and Long Term Disability coverage through MetLife.
As of June 1, 2023 the Benefit Fund has switched disability carriers to MetLife. This not only resulted in cost savings, but the exclusionary period when a member is first disabled was cut from 14 days to 7. This means members who need Short Term Disability can start receiving payment after only 7 days. Please use the contact information on the page if you need to start a claim.
